Sugo Sync

Terms of service

1. What these terms cover

Sugo Sync is an optional service that keeps the timers of the Sugo app in sync between your devices. It is operated by [TODO: name of the operator] (“we”). These terms apply to Sugo Sync and to your account. The Sugo app itself is free software under the GNU General Public License v3.0 or later, and you can use it without an account and without accepting these terms.

2. Your account

  • You need to be at least [TODO: 16] years old to create an account.
  • Give an email address you can use, and keep access to your sign-in methods safe.
  • An account is for one person. You are responsible for the devices you link to it.

3. The free plan

The free plan links up to 2 devices and syncs your timers. Other features shown as “coming soon” are not part of it until they are released. If we ever lower the number of devices, the devices already linked stay linked; you just cannot add more until you are under the new limit.

4. Your data and its encryption

  • Your timers remain yours. You give us only the permission we need to store and send them to your devices.
  • They are encrypted on your devices before they reach us, and we cannot decrypt them. This also means we cannot recover them for you.
  • Keep your recovery code safe. If you lose all your linked devices and the recovery code, your synced data cannot be recovered. The data stored on each computer is not affected.

5. Fair use

Please do not:

  • overload, disrupt or attack the service, or try to reach data that is not yours;
  • get around the device limit or the rate limits, for example with many accounts;
  • use the service to store anything other than Sugo's data, or for anything unlawful.

6. Availability and changes

We work to keep Sugo Sync running, but we offer it as it is, without a guarantee that it is always available or free of errors. We may change or stop the service; before stopping it for good we will tell you at least [TODO: 30 days] in advance by email when we can. Sugo keeps working without Sync, with your timers on each computer.

7. Ending

You can delete your account at any time on your account page. We may suspend or close an account that seriously or repeatedly breaks these terms, telling you why unless the law prevents it.

8. Liability

Sugo Sync is free. As far as the law allows, we are not liable for indirect damage or for the loss of synced data, and our liability is otherwise limited to [TODO: amount or wording]. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law, or your rights as a consumer.

9. Changes to these terms

If we change these terms, we publish the new version here and, for important changes, write to you at least [TODO: 30 days] before they apply. If you do not agree, you can delete your account.
